A: Can I take your order, Ma'am?
B: Well. I was looking through the menu and I saw this(pointing to a picture of Zongzi). What is this?
A: Oh that is what we call Zong zi.
B: What is Zong zi?
A : Zong zi is a sticky rice dumpling, which is typically shaped as a triangle and wrapped inside of bamboo leaves. Traditionally, people eat this during the Dragon boat festival.
B: Oh interesting. How does it taste?
A: There are actually many different kinds of fillings that vary in flavor. Also, It depends on the region of China. For example, in northern China, zong zi are mainly made with dates or red bean paste, and people typically eat them with white sugar.
B: Oh ok, which kind do you serve here?
A: We serve both savory and sweet kinds. The savory ones are made with egg yolk or pork or even both together. Or there are sweet ones made with dates or red beans.
B: I would like to try a date one and also a pork one. Please bring one of each, thank you.
A: Absolutely. Zong zi is wrapped with bamboo leaves by strings, would you like me to take it out from its wrapping before serving it to you?
B: Actually no, I would like to see it and do it myself.
